Leptospirosis




👀 Leptospirosis is the most prevalent disease in Sri Lanka at present. Leptospirosis is the most prevalent disease in Gampaha, Matara, Kegalle and Kalutara districts. 

Leptospirosis is endemic in the world as well as inland. It is more common in tropical and subtropical regions.  More than 19 strains have been identified as causing disease in humans and animals in Sri Lanka.  , Vomiting These are the first symptoms. Redness of the eyes, decreased urine output and browning of the urine, difficulty breathing, etc.

Mortality rate among patients is reported to be between 5% -30%. Kidney failure.Heart failure and bleeding are the leading causes of death.
